As a Registered Social Worker (RSW), all of my sessions are exempt from HST.

Individual sessions are offered online or in person for 50 minutes at $200.

Coverage

While psychotherapy services provided by a social worker are not currently covered under OHIP, many extended health benefits/employer benefits offer coverage for social work services. I encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to determine the details of your coverage and eligibility to access services provided by a Registered Social Worker.

Also counselling services provided by Registered Social Workers (RSWs) can be claimed as a medical expense tax deduction when you file your income tax return.  You can get more information about eligible medical expenses by clicking here.
